Who runs the service

GozQuiz is operated by Richard Gosnay, trading as GozQuiz. Questions about these terms: richard@gosnay.co.uk.

The site is at gozquiz.com. Hosts run live quiz rooms. Players join with a code or QR. Some quizzes are free to host. Themed nights and Pro are paid, as described below.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be 16 or older to create an account. If you are under 16, you may play only with a parent or guardian, in a family setting. The adult is responsible for that use, including the nickname the child uses and any room they join.

You can join a room as a guest without an account. An account (email and password, or Google) is required to host, keep history and badges, and buy packages or Pro. You must give a name and email that are yours, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

Acceptable use

Room names, player nicknames, and quizzes you write are visible to other people in the room. You agree not to use GozQuiz to:

• break the law, or encourage anyone else to
• bully, threaten, or harass, including through a nickname or room name
• share sexual content involving anyone under 18
• impersonate another person or a rights holder
• upload content you do not have the right to use
• probe, overload, or disrupt the service, or scrape it in bulk
• resell access, credits, or rooms

We may remove a nickname, room, or quiz, or suspend an account, if it breaks these terms.

Quizzes you create, including with AI

You are responsible for quizzes you create and host, whether you wrote them yourself or used the in-product AI tools. AI output can be inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or close to material that already exists. Check questions and answers before you put them in front of players.

You keep any rights you already have in content you submit. You give Richard Gosnay a non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, and transmit that content so the service can run — including showing it to players in a room you host. Personal quizzes stay private to your account unless you host them in a room.

Catalogue quizzes and packs that we supply are licensed to you to host on GozQuiz. Buying a pack or subscribing to Pro does not transfer copyright in that catalogue to you.

Purchases

Prices are in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. Themed-night packages are one-off purchases from £1.99. A package unlocks the packs it lists. Once it is unlocked, you can host it while your account and the service exist. It is not a subscription.

GozQuiz Pro is a subscription: £4.99 a month or £49 a year. Pro auto-renews until you cancel. While it is active you can host paid packages and use the Pro AI allowance described on the site. Pro does not replace a one-off package you already bought — those stay unlocked.

Payment is taken by our secure payment provider. We do not store your full card number. Cancel Pro from Manage billing on your profile, which opens the provider’s billing page. Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, unless we end it earlier for a serious breach.

Digital content is supplied as soon as payment succeeds, so you can host straight away. If you are a consumer, you may lose the statutory cooling-off right for that digital content once supply starts, where the law allows that and you have asked for immediate supply. You still have any consumer rights that cannot be waived if the content is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality. We do not offer a separate goodwill refund beyond those rights. Free quiz credits

A new account receives 2 free credits for creating a custom quiz. Existing accounts are not given these credits later. Each custom quiz you create uses 1 credit, unless you have Pro, in which case creating a quiz does not spend a credit. Pro’s monthly AI allowance is separate and is described on the product page.

Credits have no cash value. They are not transferable, not refundable, and cannot be exchanged for money or for a package. We may refuse credits that were obtained by abusing sign-up.

Intellectual property

The GozQuiz name, logo, software, and the catalogue we write are owned by Richard Gosnay, or by the people who license that material to him. You may not copy the software or present the service as your own product.

Trivia about TV shows, films, sport, music, and brands is unofficial. It is not endorsed by, or affiliated with, those rights holders. Titles and names are used only to identify the subject of a question.

Availability and disclaimers

GozQuiz is provided as available. Live rooms depend on players’ devices and the network. We may change features, withdraw a quiz, or pause the service for maintenance or misuse. Quiz content, including AI-generated questions, is for entertainment. It is not advice, and it may be wrong.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of Gibraltar.

Otherwise, Richard Gosnay is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from a wrong quiz answer, an interrupted room, or content a user hosts. Our total liability arising out of the service in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period, or £50 if you paid nothing.

Termination

You may stop using GozQuiz at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, if we must do so by law, or if we withdraw the service. Sections that should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and governing law) continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change, and the new version will be posted on this page. If a change materially affects a subscription you are already paying for, we will give you a reasonable notice where the law requires it. If you keep using GozQuiz after the update, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Gibraltar. The courts of Gibraltar have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, where that right cannot be waived.
